From data model to running service
Backend work is a chain — get any link wrong and the whole thing wobbles. Here's where I focus.
Build the API
Predictable endpoints, sensible status codes, and auth that isn't an afterthought. REST with Django/DRF and FastAPI, documented enough that the next person doesn't have to guess.
Model the data
The schema is the foundation. Relational models in PostgreSQL and MySQL, plus document stores when they fit — designed so queries stay fast and data stays honest.
Ship & automate
Containerize with Docker, automate the boring parts with GitHub Actions, and deploy to the cloud. Applied ML with scikit-learn when the problem calls for a model.
